Recording Techniques Fundamentals

Overview


Recording Techniques Fundamentals introduces students to the practical aspects of recording sound inside a studio environment. The course focuses on capturing vocals, instruments, and sound sources using appropriate recording techniques and workflows.

Students learn through active participation in real recording sessions rather than passive demonstrations.

Curriculum & Learning


Students learn to record different instruments and sound sources while developing an understanding of microphone types and their applications. The course covers mono, stereo, and surround miking techniques, helping students understand how placement and space affect sound.

Editing and exporting audio files are introduced as part of the recording workflow. Students also explore creating their own loops, along with basic film sound and foley recording techniques.

Outcomes


By the end of the course, students are able to set up recording sessions, choose suitable microphones, capture clean recordings, and manage recorded material confidently.

Eligibility


Students who have completed Class 12 (or equivalent) with a basic working proficiency in English and Hindi. A basic understanding of DAW operation and digital audio workflows is recommended.
